Art Studio Update, painting with acrylics and new perspectives

All artists need to step back from the easel every once in a while--to gain perspective, check the angles, take your eyes off of it for a while and come back with fresh eyes. I stepped away for a moment, and it only took me five years to gain perspective, ha-ha!
But here I am. So here is an update for my art studio.
This painting was terrible before lol! I spray painted over it in a fury of frustration and then set it aside for years. Meanwhile, I quit drinking, bought a house, and moved to a whole new life. Sobriety has been good for me. And the clean country air is even better.
I painted this with Master's Touch acrylic silver metallic paint, and Academy Acrylic paints (Phthalo blue, Titanium white, Kelly green, and Ivory black). Oh, and I gave the canvas a good undercoat of enamel spray paint (blue and hammered metal texture gray). 😁
Honestly, I love the way it turned out! It's fitting for the past five years too. Not just for me, I know it has been certified crazy all over the planet for the last few years. But here we are, right?
So for now, I've been cataloging old work and even making a few new pieces like the one above. I've been posting them in my art shop at grsilversmith.com as well as at GRsilver.redbubble.com and, I have to be honest, the print copies look great!
They both provide high quality print options on everything from metal prints to cell phone cases. So I can focus on making art and being a mom. And, of course, taking care of our new house.
New home. New studio space. New perspective. My life is entirely different than what I thought it would be five years ago, but I'm grateful for it. Everything is smaller, but there is potential for growth--which I'll share as I expand and refinish the spaces that need tending.
Along with art and jewelry, my world has expanded to homeownership, which tends to include a lot of projects. So, I'll be sharing how I re-finish the outside of my log cabin, how I remodel my new studio space, and the garden that I moved to the country for. These are exciting times. I thought it was the end of my art, but I'm realizing now it's just the beginning.
And if you've made it this far, welcome to the journey. We're just getting started.
